On October 12 – 14, Student Association of Psychology UNS conducted Archetype in order to glorify Mental Health Day that falls every October 10. The event, Archetype, was held in Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah Surakarta.
The Student Association of Psychology UNS held its second annual event to celebrate Mental Health Day. The theme of Archetype this year was “Mental Health Agent in Digital Era”.
Adi Sasono, the committee, said “This theme intends that digitalization should be a tool for spreading a healthy psychological environment. We have to utilize digital as maximum as possible to spread a healthy environment and also knowledge about psychology to the public.”
Archetype has two different events; workshops and art exhibitions. The workshop was held each day from the opening until the closing ceremony with different speakers in each meeting. In addition, throughout the workshop, the art exhibition was also held carrying four different themes.
“We have four themes for the art exhibition; self, lifetime, different, and national issues. Some of the artworks, which are being presented, are masterpieces from people with Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a disorder that affects not only a person’s way of thinking but also their behavior.” Adi added.
This event was held for the public with a purpose to encourage the society in understanding psychology from arts’ side. The event was also used to show that people with mental illness still can create artworks.
