PMII Kentingan Holds Journalism Training in Karangpandan



Irfan Zamzani (on the left side), an English Department’s Lecturer of Diponegoro University, conveys the journalism material to the participants on Saturday, October 13.


Indonesian Moslem Student Movement (PMII) of Kentingan District held journalism training for common higher education students in Karangpandan, Karanganyar, on October 12 to 14. In this occasion, the journalism training raised a topic about 'Strengthen Nationalism through Journalism in Encountering the Today’s Era Challenges’.

One of the committee, Imaamah, claimed “This training is PMII's program which organized by PMII journalism division, LSO Terkepal. We have purpose for common higher education students, especially PMII cadre, to broaden the knowledge in journalistic field. By holding this event, we hope the youngsters will have nationalism and critical thinking in facing the today’s era.”

Chintami, a participant from Indonesian Language and Literature Education of Sebelas Maret University (UNS), admitted that she was impressed by the speaker. “I joined this because I’m interested in journalism. Also, I wanted to meet Kalis Mardiasih, an essayist that I idolize,” she added.

Fifi, a student from the Study Sufism and Psychotherapy of Walisongo State Islamic University (UIN Walisongo), uttered this event educated her about journalism knowledge. She said she got experiences in writing an essay after following the materials. She expected she will be a journalist in the future by getting an output from this journalism training.
