Answer: According to the procedure, the eviction was done arbitrarily because the police did not bring any authorization letter for eviction. The eviction’s victims were also paying for the land tax to stay in Jebres Demangan land. In terms of the eviction’s solution, no realization can’t be proved.

The solution which was given by the government in form of a flat and some money. Dimas Suro, one of the activists, surveying the flat and no room left for the victims. Also, the money did not immediately distribute to the victim yet.

Faculty of Cultural Sciences students are wearing batik.
Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) celebrated National Batik Day that falls every October 2. All staffs and students were recommended to wear batik clothes from Tuesday to Friday (10/2-6).

Almost everybody on Tuesday, October 2, obeyed the instruction to wear batik clothes.

One of the students wearing batik, Muhammad Rifqi Yahya, an Arabic literature student, said "The instruction to wear batik clothes is a good choice to celebrate National Batik Day. Beside celebrating National Batik Day, the instruction for UNS' staffs and students is also conserving our own culture".

UNESCO designated batik as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on October 2, 2009. The decree is a form of international recognition of Indonesian batik as a world cultural heritage.

According to Rifqi, today’s youngsters do not recognize batik as an Indonesia's own culture. Rifqi added, another way to celebrate batik day is by teaching students about making batik and learning about batik varieties.

Batik varieties can be differentiated by the way it's made, such as; Written Batik, Stamped Batik, and Printed Batik. Batik motif has different characteristic in each region as well as Jogjakarta's Batik motifs and Solo's Batik motifs.

Aisyah, a Javanese Literature student, gave another idea about the appropriate way in appreciating Batik as a cultural heritage. “Wearing batik clothes is not only worn in the formal events but also in daily activities. Youngsters’ paradigm of batik is closely related with kondangan, Indonesians' wedding party, therefore youngsters rarely wore batik. Based upon the history, batik was worn everyday as a day-to-day outfit,” Aisyah said.

Wearing batik clothes for UNS' staffs and students is considered to be an effective method to appreciate Indonesia’s national culture.

UNS' students are wearing Batik in Faculty of Social and Politic Sciences

UNS celebrated National Batik Day in October 2nd by giving instruction to its students to use batik attire. The instruction is applied from October 2nd until October 6th. Last year, the rector of UNS had not been formalized the instruction for all its academic society.

Many students on Tuesday, October 2nd, wore batik attire. Even the regulation of wearing batik was already formalized, but there was still a few students wore casual clothes.

Muhammad Rifqi Yahya, an Arabic literature student in UNS,  said "UNS' instruction for students to use batik attire is a good choice to celebrate National Batik Day. Beside of celebrating National Batik Day, by giving this instructions to UNS' students is also protecting and conserving our own culture in batik industry".

Batik is an Indonesian culture that already designated as Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in October 2nd, 2009 by UNESCO. The decree is a form of international recognition of Indonesian batik as a world cultural heritage.

As a college student, Rifqi perceived that many young generation do not recognize batik as an Indonesia's own culture. Rifqi added, beside of giving instruction to use batik attire,  another way to appreciate National Batik Day can be celebrated by teaching students about making batik and learning about batik varieties.

Batik varieties can be differentiated by the way it's made, such as; Batik Tulis, Batik Cap, and Batik Cetak. Batik motive has dissimilar characteristic in each region as well as Jogjakarta's Batik motifs and Solo's Batik motifs.

Aisyah, a Javanese Literature student, gave another idea about the most appropriate way to appreciate Batik as a cultural heritage is to use batik attire everyday not only in non-particular events but also in daily activities.

Many young people embarrassed to use batik in everyday life because it is closely related with kondangan, Indonesians' wedding party,  whereas in ancient times batik wore as a day-to-day outfit.

Aisyah said "I do not agree with the idea that batik is only wore in certain event. Batik is cool, we do not have to wear it only in certain days or events".

Wearing batik attire for all UNS' academic society is considered to be an effective methods for them to realize how important to preserve this national culture. Instead of blaming another country for claiming batik, wearing batik in non-particular events is the easiest way of aprreciation.
